I’m otherworldly proud to help bring Ulla Straus’ stunning floor into the world. Separated into two tracks, floor is a longform journey of meandering drones and beautifully layered synth lines. ”outside” lets these melodies and textures fly with abandon—phasing in and out, pitching up and down—all the while creating a beautiful and serene environment in which to reflect and consider. These sparkling moments mellow out on “inside” and re-form to create a much more reserved and somber end to the record. Moments slow, the depth and attack recede, and a new and other meditative space is created. Full of simple beauty and great patience and care, floor is a perfect accompaniment to the approaching winter season and our need for quiet moments and thoughtful introspection. Edition of 50 pro-dubbed and imprinted Type II/Chrome cassettes with full-color, double-sided artwork by Lori-May Orillo.
