Lillerne is extremely excited to bring you Long Shadow Duo—a seemingly effortless and beautiful debut collaboration between Neil Lord (Future Musems) and Marcus Maurice (More Eaze). Lifelong finds the two Texans heading in all sorts of musical directions, but every turn seems to lead to another wonderfully desolate, open-skied highway—perpetually at sunset. Moments of droney ambience share the road with thoughtful acoustic guitar strums, while synth arpeggios playfully surround beautifully bowed strings. There’s a consistent sense of analog and digital existing in harmony. When the sonic space fills up and the pace picks up speed, kosmiche-y drum machine moments arrange these sounds into a perfect package. Nic Nadeau’s moving vocals, which are paired with some shimmery, lonesomely twangy guitars on “Seal My Lips” is another blissful highlight. Lifelong is a special collection of very special moments. Edition of 50 pro-dubbed cassettes with full-color artwork by Tristan Whitehill.
From the artists:
"Born from the beaks of a nest of abandoned baby birds, Long Shadow Duo embark on a barefoot exile into the wilds of “no genre”. One bird barks like a dog, one screams like a train running off the rails, another makes no sound at all and instead, records itself walking softly through the creek. If you were to hear them all together, some feathered choir, it would sound eerily similar to ‘Lifelong’. Enjoy the soothing sounds of time disassociating from its relativity and instead sticking its greasy palm into the yolk, only to giggle at the mess it’s made!"
