Lillerne is excited to help bring to life this collection of creations by Philly-based Pontiac Streator and Berlin’s Exael. Having previously released cassettes for both projects (Exael’s 2016 Miche and PS’s 2018 180’s Choice), Lillerne feels like a good place for these two long-time friends to collaborate on Micro Incubus. Beautifully pulsating tracks like “Too Much Beige” and “Poor, Really Poor” glide haunting melodies over deep skeletal rhythmic flourishes, while “Confess Binch” finds the two delving into live drums and guitars—creating a massively zoned out, reverb-drenched ballad. In all of the variety and dynamic elements of Micro Incubus, there remains a sense of cohesion, comfortability and thoughtfulness.
