Alien Success Stories is a bootleg label. These editions are sold at cost+shipping to ensure that Alien Success Stories continues to exist and reproduce these recordings without profit. The goal is to bring these hard-to-find, cassette-based gems to light and provide them to a new audience via their original format. I think a lot about the bootleg and how amazingly important (and complicated and problematic) it’s been in music and beyond. I want to keep these versions on A.S.S. as purely appreciative/homage and low-impact as I can.

How can a single artist have so many different, strong ways to express themselves? It almost feels unfair listening to AHFITMOAL, all of these finely developed styles and experiments into folk, drone, and ambient compositions seeming as if they came into existence with ease. Opening with a long, new age inspired track and closing with a tender, short delve into simple strumming and folk ballad singing, everything feels so huge in scope, yet mind-bogglingly cohesive in what it has to say.
