Lillerne is very pleased to release Colin Blanton’s (Ant’lrd, Baro Records) first full-length work under the Brin moniker. Twelve tracks of sample-heavy, beat-oriented material—heavily littered with beautiful melodic hooks and powerfully catchy, chopped and thoughtfully manipulated percussive loops. Things move with high energy and at an extremely engrossing pace, but let tracks like “invisi” with its soothing, digital harpsichord-y textures or the comparatively downtempo “once runner” slow the head bobbing a few bpm. I love this record for its ability to balance the manipulations and shifts in pace with a distinct underlying beauty and amount of sonic care at every second. A one of a kind collection of tracks that I’m excited for you to hear! Edition of 50 pro-dubbed, imprinted cassettes with full color, double sided artwork by Christopher Royal King.
Very pleasant music that draws me in. I hear a kind of charm in many of Les' compositions (here and in his "Invisible Cities" album) -- along with quiet mysteries that don't need to be solved -- just enjoyed. Brian Flaherty
Imagine a distant, tropical island where old synthesisers and vocoders are washed up alongside Indonesian gamelan instruments. The mould and rust infects the palm trees and inside every coconut is this very pretty, organic sounding electronic music............
A treat for the ears!! umbrellaphone
