I’m excited to bring you the debut cassette release from Tokyo’s imm. I was struck by the demo sent my way in late 2017, and it’s an honor to be able to help distribute these recordings on cassette via Lillerne. The haunting tracks and their shimmering layers of ambience on “fairy tale that does not know” translate perfectly to tape—as the cavernous dynamics and soft, thoughtful moments are warmed even more by the analog format. Echoing, resonating, pillowy chambers of melody and the calming spaces in between make “fairy tale…” a perfectly immersive soundtrack for deep introspection or shared journeys.
